Using My Watchlist
Add, remove, and organize markets, then open their available COT reports.
Using My Watchlist
Keep the markets you follow in one place, with links to their public COT reports.
Open a market's reports
In List, choose a report link beside a saved market. Legacy, Disaggregated, and Financial links open different report types for that exact market. Only the available report links are shown.
Add or remove markets
Select Edit to manage your saved markets. Search for a market, select it, and choose Add market. Use Remove to take a market off your list. Changes save automatically. After a market is saved, choose View my watchlist beside the editing controls or in the addition confirmation to return to List. You can also stay in Edit and add more markets. The view action waits until any pending or uncertain save has been resolved.
After a removal is saved, choose Undo in the confirmation message to restore that market. Undo is available until you dismiss the message, change the list again, reload, or leave the page. If your watchlist changes in another tab or session, reload it before making more changes. A market that is no longer available to add cannot be restored with Undo.
If new market additions are temporarily unavailable, you can still view, remove, or reorder your saved markets.
You can save up to 50 markets.
Arrange your list
Custom order uses your saved sequence. To change it, choose Custom order, select Edit, and use Move up or Move down. By category and Alphabetical change how the list is displayed; they do not rewrite your saved order.
Distinguish similar contracts
Similar market names can refer to different contracts. Use the full contract name and CFTC code to distinguish them, including E-mini, Micro, and consolidated entries. Different report links for the same saved market do not create separate watchlist entries.
An empty list offers two ways to start: add markets or explore COT Signals when available. Signals needs no saved markets.
When available, Send feedback beside the navigation in either List or Edit, or on the button at the lower right of the screen on desktop, opens a Tally form in a new tab. Tell us what was unclear or did not work. Screenshots and a reply email are optional; leave out sensitive information. Permission to contact you about feedback does not subscribe you to the newsletter.
The List view can also show COT Signals highlights from across Major markets.
Open the analysis
Select Analysis beside a market to read its positioning summary and trader-group evidence. Analytical access is separate from your free account and basic watchlist.
Understand the signal labels
When analytical access is available, the labels help you choose which markets to inspect. Open Reading watchlist signals to learn what each label means.
Reading watchlist signals
Each label points out a positioning reading for one trader group in that market:
- Position: the group's net position is near or at the high or low end of its historical comparison range. Read the comparison period shown on the label.
- Change: an unusually large weekly increase or decrease in the group's net position, compared with that group's own past weekly changes.
- Net flip: the group turned net long or net short from an opposite or flat balance, compared with the preceding available report.
The parentheses show the trader group and report. Open Analysis for the numbers, other groups, and full evidence. These labels describe positioning, not where prices will go.
A position can remain at an extreme across several reports. This is a range measurement, not an all-time record or a measure of how rarely the position has occurred. Read the displayed comparison period; exact counts and dates are in the evidence.
COT Index and historical position
Change labels describe the degree of an unusual weekly move, not the size of a future price move. They use tie-aware historical ranks, not probabilities. Net flips have no strength grade; a small move around zero can be a flip without being an unusually large change.
One market can show different groups' readings
The watchlist summarizes each signal type separately. A market's Position and Change labels may refer to different reports or trader groups. The labels do not mean that all groups agree, and they are not combined into an overall market-strength score.
No signal is different from missing information
No signal detected means that analysis is available, but no qualifying positioning signal was detected in this view. It does not mean that positions were unchanged or that prices will stay quiet.
Limited comparisons mean that one or more readings cannot be evaluated fully with the available history. Other qualifying readings may still be shown. Unavailable analysis or a summary-loading error is not a no-signal result.
Read the scope and date
The line above the list identifies the report scope and a shared positioning date when all dates match. Otherwise each signal label shows its representative’s date. These are report-based readings, not live price signals. Any different dates or material limitations remain attached to the relevant data.
If summaries cannot be loaded, use Retry summaries. When the page shows a last checked result, read its displayed date.
A source-update notice describes stored report-family dates, not live prices or a confirmed new report for every market.
These labels describe trader positioning. They are not recommendations to buy or sell.
COT Signals highlights on My Watchlist
This card shows up to three markets from the current COT Signals Highlights, using the existing ranking. That ranking sets review priority; it is not a forecast.
Uses the default Signals view: Major markets, with all report types and trader groups supported by the tool. Report families are kept separate. This does not include every public CFTC category, and readings from overlapping reports are not added together.
These markets are not limited to your watchlist. “On your watchlist” marks the ones you have saved.
The count shows how many Major markets have a positioning signal. “Positions as of” appears beside it only when all displayed readings share that date.
Use the Open COT Signals button to see all markets and filters, or a market’s Analysis button for its details when available.
